Barrow Government Supports Tourism and Hospitality Entrepreneurs

President Adama Barrow Presents US$ 1.4 Million Cheque to The Tourism Diversification and Resilience Gambia Project Beneficiaries

The beneficiaries include Kaddy Sidibeh (Khaddy Experience), Ida Cham (Yabouy Home Cooking), Neneh Saidy Bah (Glow Beauty Palace), Mariama Jabang (Kaba Girl), Kawsu Samateh (Kawsu Tours) among others.

The Gambia Government and the World Bank developed this Tourism Diversification and Resilience (TDR) project as part of the post COVID-19 post pandemic recovery process. The TDR project will enhance entrepreneurship across the country by increasing access to capital to create new opportunities, boosting existing businesses, and promoting overall economic growth.

Ms. Kaddy Sidibeh spoke on behalf of the first cohort of beneficiaries. She expressed gratitude to The Gambia Government and World Bank for extending the magnificent gesture of empowering micro and small enterprises in the country. Plans are underway to train the 2nd cohort of entrepreneurs in the tourism sector.

The Barrow administration is determined to make life easier for home-grown businesses in the country to thrive.
