Her Excellency Aja Fatoumata Jallow Tambajang has been nominated as Minister of Women’s Affairs of The Gambia by President Adama Barrow on Wednesday, 22nd February 2017, also overseeing the portfolio of Office of the Vice President.
Madam Tambajang has a wealth of experience in governance and policy issues. She served in the First Republic as Adviser on Women and Children Affairs, and, in the Second Republic, served as Health Minister from 1994 to 1995.
Mrs Tambajang earned Bachelor of Arts in French Language at the University of Nice, France. She one time served as Chief Technical Adviser on Gender at UNDP in Liberia from 2000 to 2002.
